Iksan City, Jeollabuk-do, announced on the 19th that it will hold the 3rd Mayor’s Boat National Horse Riding Competition from the 20th to the 22nd at the Yongan-myeon Public Equestrian Center.
The tournament is organized by the Iksan City Equestrian Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Organization.
More than 1,000 athletes and officials are expected to participate in 14 events, including obstacle races, dressage races (horses are handled in a 60X20-meter arena), kwonseung races (horses walk on a line in an 8-meter diameter circle), relay races, and hurdle races.
At the opening ceremony, national athlete Kim Ki-soo will demonstrate dressage to set the tone for the competition. The city expects the event to help Iksan take a step closer to becoming an equestrian tourism destination and a major equestrian city on the West Coast.
“We hope that the competition will become a festival for 슬롯게이밍 all citizens to enjoy, not just equestrians,” said Iksan Mayor Jung Heon-yul.
