The Mokpo General Stadium is a certified first-class athletics stadium with more than 16,000 spectator seats and the only nine-lane running track in the country.The Mokpo Indoor Swimming Pool replaced the management pool and diving pool to meet the certified standards, and the diving table was installed with the same products used at the Hangzhou Asian Games and Fukuoka World Swimming Championships.The International Football Center is the best and largest training center for a single sport in Korea with seven high-quality natural and artificial turf pitches.
The Bujusan Tennis Center has 12 acrylic hard courts, and the Bandabi Athletic Center, with its accessible gymnasium and aquatics facilities, has also been unveiled.The city plans to utilize this sports infrastructure to attract training teams and national-level competitions to help revitalize the local economy.Since December last year, the city has hosted more than 1,800 athletes from 86 teams.
For the upcoming winter training season, the city is conducting marketing activities to attract more than 100 teams and 3,000 athletes, with the goal of attracting athletes and officials from participating cities across the country.Starting next year, the 53rd National Youth Sports Games, KBS Varsity National Athletics Championships, Asian Athletics Throwing Championships, Korea Open Badminton Championships, and Kim Dae Jung Marathon will be held at the Mokpo Sports Complex.
