Major League Baseball (MLB) star Mike Trout (32, Los Angeles Angels Angels) is going under the knife again.
“After a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, I was diagnosed with another tear in the meniscus in my left knee,” Trout said on social media (SNS) on Feb. 2 (Korea time). “Unfortunately, I will have to undergo surgery again, so my hopes for this season are over.”
Trout had one surgery in late April for a torn meniscus in his knee.
He was expected to return in five to six weeks, but his recovery was slow and he spent more than 11 weeks rehabbing.
But last week, he felt pain again in a minor league Triple-A rehab game and was diagnosed with a tear in another part of his knee cartilage.
Trout, who made his debut in 2011, is an 11-time All-Star and three-time American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP), making him a superstar beyond the Angels organization.
However, in recent years, he has disappointed fans with yearly stints on the disabled list (IL).
From 2017 through last year, Trout has been plagued by various injuries, missing a minimum of 19 games and a maximum of 122 games each season.
This season, Trout played just 29 games and spent the remaining 133 games undergoing surgery and rehabilitation. 토토사이트 순위
