South Korean striker Cho Kyu-sung (25-Mitwillan) scored his second goal in as many games on the opening day of the Danish Professional Soccer Superliga.
Mittwillan won 2-0 at home against Silkeborg in the second round of the 2023-24 Danish Superliga at the MCH Arena in Herning, Denmark, on Tuesday (Sept. 30).
Cho Kyu-sung, who started the match as a frontline striker, rattled the net with a right-footed shot from the front of the box in first-half stoppage time with the score at 1-0.
It was his second consecutive goal. After scoring his first goal in the Danish league with a header in the league opener against Hvidørre (1-0 win) on Aug. 22, Cho also found the back of the net in the second round.
He played the first 45 minutes of the UEFA Europa Conference second qualifying round first leg against Progress Niederkorn (Luxembourg) between rounds one and two, but did not record a goal.
On this occasion, Mitwillan was awarded a penalty in the 14th minute. Gustav Isaksen drew a foul in the box after receiving a pass from Cho Kyu-sung. However, Isaksen missed the penalty. It was the second straight penalty miss after the opening game against Hvidore.

Cho set the tone in the 16th minute with a sensational non-stop shot. He sent his shot straight at the goalkeeper.
The game was interrupted by a sudden downpour in the 22nd minute. Players from both teams had to leave the field for a while, and it took about 30 minutes for the field to be repaired before play resumed.
This resulted in 24 minutes of first-half extra time. After the resumption, Mitwillan opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the first extra period.
Cho Kyu-sung then opened the scoring. After receiving a penetrating pass, he split the net with a right-footed groundball shot aimed at the left corner. Cho’s goal came in the 22nd minute of first-half stoppage time.
He was replaced by Sori Kabbah in the 29th minute of the second half with a 2-0 lead. After the game, Cho received an 8.0 rating from soccer statistician Footmob, the highest rating for either team.
Midtjylland eventually beat Silkeborg 2-0 to make it two wins in a row on the opening day. That’s three in a row if you include the Europa Conference.
It’s still early days, 한국야동 but Mitwylan are reaping the benefits of the signing of Cho Kyu-sung.
