SEOUL, South Korea (AFP) – The Korean open water team of Park Jae-hoon (Seogwipo City Hall), Sung Jun-ho (Korea Gymnastics University), Lee Hae-rim (Gyeongbuk Province) and Lee Jung-min (Anyang City Hall) has concluded the open water mixed team event at the World Aquatics Championships.

The Korean open water team finished the 6-kilometer open water mixed team event in 1 hour, 19 minutes, 28.70 seconds on Tuesday at the Fukuoka 2023 World Aquatics Championships at Momochi Seaside Park in Fukuoka, Japan, placing 18th out of 21 competing nations.

Park Jae-hoon, Sung Jun-ho, Lee Hae-rim and Lee Jung-min swam 1.5 kilometers each.

After completing the men’s and women’s 5-10km individual races earlier, they completed the team event to prepare for the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Italy won the gold medal with a time of 1:10:31.20, Hungary took silver with a time of 1:10:35.30, and Australia took bronze with a time of 1:11:26.70.

Open water powerhouse Germany, 한국야동 who took all four individual gold medals, finished fourth with a time of 1:11:26.90.
