LG Twins left-handed pitcher Son Joo-young will be available for the Premier12. His elbow injury will keep him out of the squad, but he should be ready for next season.
Son underwent a medical examination on his elbow after the playoffs. The LG club announced on April 22, “Son Joo-young was diagnosed with a first-degree left elbow flexor and supinator muscle strain after an MRI and hospital examination. We will consult with the national team regarding his participation in the Premier12.”
Son was a standout in the postseason, rotating between the starting lineup and the bullpen on short rest. However, in the final game of the playoffs, he was forced to leave the game due to elbow pain.
On the evening of the 22nd, Son posted on social media about his condition and the end of his season. “The condition of my arm is a muscle part (injury), so it will improve quickly if I rest well, so there is no problem preparing for next season. I will see you in the 2025 season with a good body,” he said. With plenty of off-season rest, rehabilitation and strengthening exercises, he should be ready for next March’s season.
However, it is unlikely he will be available for the Premier12 in November.
The team will convene on the evening of the 23rd and will hold their first training session on the 24th at the Gocheok Dome in Seoul.
Son Ju-young said, “It took me eight years to pitch in front of the fans in 2024. I will pitch in an LG Twins uniform for as long as it takes, and I am very grateful to the LG fans and the LG organization for their patience,” said Son.
“I experienced a lot this season and I still lack a lot, but I will prepare well from now on to do better next season, and I sincerely thank the training staff for helping me stay healthy and not miss a single rotation. It was a pleasure to play baseball this season with good seniors and juniors. 파워볼사이트 Hearing the support of LG fans at the ballpark made me want to hear it more and more often, so I think I prepared myself to do better and more thoroughly. I will do my best to hear a lot of support next year.”
