Kim Yeon-kyung (36-Hungkuk Life), the “Volleyball Goddess,” is the No. 1 female athlete South Korea’s U20 Women’s World Cup team members want to emulate.

Kim topped a survey of 21 members of the U20 Women’s World Cup team by Onside, a monthly publication of the Korea Football Association (KFA), to find out which female sportsperson they would most like to emulate.

Kim was nominated by seven of the respondents. The athletes cited reasons such as “being the best at what she does,” “girl crush,” and “the ability to get back up after falling down and 카지노사이트 추천 great leadership.

Kim was followed by badminton player Ahn Se-young (22-Samsung Life Insurance) in second place. Athletes chose her for her “passion for her goals and the way she accomplishes them in the end,” and “her calm mind control during matches.”

Other stars of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games were called out, including table tennis player Shin Yoo-bin (20-Korean Air) and Dutch athlete Sifan Hassan.

In soccer, Ji So-yeon (33, Seattle Reign), former international Kang Ga-ae (34), and last year’s Women’s Ballon d’Or and FIFA Best Women’s Player winner Alexia Putellas (Spain) received one vote.

Meanwhile, the players ahead of the U20 Women’s World Cup were confident and ambitious when asked about their goals for the tournament.

Ten (47.6%) said ‘win’ when asked how they expected to perform. Eight players (38.8%) are aiming for a top-four finish.

The Women’s U20 World Cup will be held from Aug. 31 to Sept. 22 in Colombia. South Korea opens against Nigeria at 8 a.m. on Sept. 2, followed by Venezuela at 10 a.m. on Sept. 5 and Germany at 5 a.m. on Sept. 8 in Group D.

The 24-nation tournament is divided into six groups of four teams, with the first and second-place finishers from each group and the top four best-performing teams advancing to the round of 16 to determine the tournament champion.
