Manchester United has won both the managerial and player awards for November.

“Harry Maguire, 30, was named Player of the Month,” the English Premier League (EPL) office announced on Monday (November 8), “and United manager Eric ten Hagh, 53, was named Manager of the Month. United were the only team to win all three games in November without conceding a goal.”

“This is Van Gaal’s third Manager of the Month award, having won it in September 2022 and February 2023,” the press office said. “Only Sir Alex Ferguson (27 times) has won the award more times as a United manager. Van Gaal is now one of only 32 managers to win three Manager of the Month awards.”

Van Gaal’s side won 1-0 at Fulham on April 4. They held off a late Bruno Fernandes (29) goal to take the lead. Maguire formed a central defense alongside veteran defender Jonny Evans (35) to cover United’s back line.

A 1-0 win at Luton Town on December 12. Victor Lindelof (29) scored the winning goal. Again, Maguire started and played the full game.

It was a big win against a tough Everton side. Alejandro Garnacho (20) scored a spectacular bicycle kick in the first half to give United the lead, and Marcus Rashford (25) and Anthony Martial (28) added second-half goals to seal the win. Maguire was a key contributor to United’s clean sheet on the day, winning five aerial contests and eight clearances.

After the start of the 2023-24 season, all three managerial awards went to Ange Postecoglou (58). It was a first in Premier League history. Postecoglou has led his side to the top of the table with eight wins and two draws from 10 games. In his last five games, he has drawn one and lost four, leaving him in fifth place in the league standings.

Former United manager Ferguson is the most decorated manager. Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is second with 15. He is followed by Pep Guardiola of Manchester City (11), David Moyes of West Ham United (10), and Jürgen Klopp of Liverpool (9).
