Manchester City’s momentum on the European stage continues unabated.
The defending UEFA Champions League (UCL) champions defeated Young Boys 3-0 in their Group G fourth leg on Aug. 8 to extend their unbeaten streak to four games and advance to the round of 16 early.
This is a team that is making a statement as the strongest team in the world.
Legendary Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has picked two teams that he believes can stop Manchester City.
One is German giants Bayern Munich. The Bavarians bolstered their roster ahead of the season with the signings of Harry Kane in attack and Kim Min-Jae in defense, and are considered one of the favorites to win the UCL.
The Bavarians are at the top of Group A with three straight wins. The Bavarians will host Galatasaray in their third Group A match on September 9. A win would secure an early round of 16 berth.
“One of the two teams that can stop Man City is Bayern Munich,” Ferdinand told TNT Sports. “Bayern Munich can be an obstacle for City. Their front line, especially with Kane, can cause problems for any team in the UCL this season. Kane just needs to get into his groove and score goals.”
The other team is Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid. The kings of the UCL. Real Madrid is also on a three-game winning streak in Group C. Real Madrid will face Braga in the fourth match of Group C on September 9.
“Real Madrid have a great player in Jude 사설토토 Bellingham, who has been in great form this season,” Ferdinand emphasized.
But Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are challengers. Man City are the best right now. There’s no denying it.
Ferdinand says: “They’re the team that’s maintaining their dominance. “No team is perfect. Every team has holes. But right now, City is the only team that I think is perfect. And that’s going to be a problem for everybody else.”
