Djokovic wins overnight battle with Djokovic to reach quarterfinals
Novak Djokovic, bidding for an eighth Wimbledon title of his career, has reached the quarterfinals with a victory in a ‘one-night stand’.
Djokovic defeated Hubert Hucic in straight sets in his men’s singles round of 16 match at the All England Club in London, England.
The match, which started the day before, was suspended due to a rule against playing after 11 p.m. and was made up the following day.
Djokovic, who extended his Wimbledon winning streak to 32 matches with the victory over Hurcak, will face Andrei Rublev in the quarterfinals.
