The Kuwaiti national soccer team has called up its full squad ahead of its match against South Korea, and it’s behind the curtain.
The Kuwaiti national soccer team, coached by Juan Antonio Pizzi, will take on Group B leader South Korea, coached by Hong Myung-bo, in the fifth round of Group B of the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup Asia 2018 qualifiers at the Jaber Al Ahmad National Stadium in Kuwait City on Thursday night at 11 p.m. ET.
Kuwait, who currently sit at the bottom of the group, will be looking to turn the tide against South Korea and their upcoming home match against eos파워볼 Jordan on Sept. 19.
“In the evening training session on Tuesday, all the players who were unable to join the team, including Khalid Al Rashidi and Sultan Al Anzi, joined the team,” said Middle Eastern media outlet Qura, adding that the Kuwaiti coaching staff has decided to hold a closed-door training session until the match against Jordan on the 19th. This means that all training sessions will be closed to the public, with the exception of a mandatory 15-minute session a day before the match.
Meanwhile, the South Korean national soccer team has also arrived in Kuwait. Head coach Hong Myung-bo, his coaching staff, and 10 players from the K League and J League, including Cho Hyun-woo and Oh Se-hoon, have arrived in the country. Players from Europe and the Middle East are planning to join the team as soon as possible.
