Vero Valli Monza, the Italian men’s professional volleyball team boasting the world’s strongest power, will visit Korea in September.
The Korea Volleyball Federation and KBSN, the professional volleyball broadcaster, held a business agreement ceremony for the ‘2024 Korea-Italy Men’s Volleyball Global Super Match’ at the Monza Arena in Italy on the 9th (local time) and announced that the Korea-Italy Men’s Volleyball Global Super Match will be held on September 7th and 8th.
Vero Valli Monza is a team that boasts top-class European power, having finished runner-up in the Italian Superlegga (league), Coppa Italia (cup competition), and UEFA Challenge Cup in the 2023-2024 season.
This is a team that is familiar to Korean volleyball fans, as it includes the youngest member of the South Korean national men’s team, Woojin Lee (19).
This super match was promoted in earnest with the signing of Lee Woo-jin, the ace of the youth national team who won the bronze medal for the first time in 30 years at the U-19 World Championships last year, to Vero Valli Monza.
Seok Jin-wook, a sports commentator for KBSN, said, “Italian volleyball is world-class, both in terms of the national team and the league. This Super Match will be held on September 7th between the V-League champions, Korean Air, and Vero Valli Monza, and on the 8th, there will be a friendly match and concert between ‘Team Cobo All-Star’ and Vero Valli Monza.
