Argentine striker Paulo Dybala (AS Roma) could be heading to Saudi Arabia in exchange for a big payday.
“Paulo Dybala’s agent recently received a tempting offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadisia,” Italian outlet Football Italia reported on Thursday.
Born in 1993, Argentine striker Dybala is a world-class soccer player. He made his professional debut with Argentine club Instituto before moving to Palermo in 2012, and has been playing exclusively in Italy for 12 years, with stints at Juventus and AS Roma.
It was at Juventus that Dybala really started to make a name for himself. After a successful stint with Palermo, Dybala joined Juventus in 2015 and went on to score 115 goals and provide 48 assists in 293 appearances over seven years.
During his time at Juventus, Dybala won 11 trophies, including five Serie A titles. During this time, he was also named Serie A MVP (2019-20) and was named to the Serie A Team of the Year four times (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2019-20).
After seven years at Juventus, Dybala moved to his current club AS Roma in the summer of 2022. Since joining Roma, he has become a key member of the team, scoring 34 goals and providing 18 assists in 77 games over two years. In his debut season, he scored 18 goals and provided eight assists and was named Roma Player of the Year. He continued to be a key part of the attack last season, scoring 16 goals and providing 10 assists.
The Serie A striker has also played for Argentina’s national team, scoring three goals in 38 caps. Despite his lack of appearances and goals, Dybala earned a spot on the Argentina national team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where he lifted the World Cup trophy.
In addition to his soccer prowess, Dybala, who is known for his good looks and unique personality, is entering the final year of his contract with Roma, which expires next June, and has recently been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
“Dybala’s agent Carlos Nobel has spoken to his Saudi counterparts to discuss a possible move to the Middle East this summer,” the media outlet explained, adding that ”Saudi Arabia’s Al-Qadisia had a €20 million offer for Dybala rejected earlier this 해외 카지노 사이트 summer, but have now returned with new terms.”
“Roma have authorized Dybala to negotiate with the Saudi club,” the article continued, citing a report by Italian soccer expert Gianluca DiMarzio.
“The two clubs will talk again in the coming days as the player has not yet made a final decision,” the outlet said, ”but Di Marzio said there is a concrete possibility that Dybala could leave Roma this summer.”
Dybala signed a three-year deal with Roma in the summer of 2022, which reportedly included a clause that would extend his contract for another year if he played a certain number of games in his final season. According to the media, the contract will be automatically extended if Dybala plays at least 50 percent of Roma’s schedule in the 2024-25 season.
However, with the Saudi offer, Dybala’s Roma career is likely to end in the 2023-24 season.
“Dybala is expected to sign a three-year contract with Al-Qadisi and is expected to earn 15 million euros ($22.4 million) a year after taxes,” according to France’s Foot Mercato. In weekly wages, that’s a staggering €290,000, or about $433,000.
Since last summer, the Saudis have been using their oil money to amass a roster of global soccer stars. Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nasr), Karim Benzema (Al-Ittihad), Neymar (Al-Hilal), and others have left Europe for the kingdom in exchange for huge salaries.
Dybala is also past his prime and is 31 years old. As he approaches his 30s, it will be interesting to see if Dybala will leave Italy’s Serie A, where he played for 12 years, for the Middle East in exchange for a hefty salary.
